The Sunday Edit #10

Week rundown on my blog:
Monday: 40 Beauty Questions Tag
Wednesday: March Favourites
Saturday: March Empties and Mini Reviews

Hey lovelies, I hope you're all well. It's not six days into April... These days are flying by so fast it's crazy! But I can't wait for Easter and all the yummy chocolate!

So I'm now back at home in Leicester for three weeks as we have spring break. I'm too poor to stay at my house in Sunderland so I had to come home aha. My mum and her lovely new boyfriend picked me and my boyfriend Michael up and took us back to mine, how nice is that?!

I'm so excited to have a lie in as waking up at 7 o'clock nearly every morning kills me. I need to get rid of these bags! Although we have three weeks off from Uni I'll be doing Uni work everyday I bet. I have three essays, three exams to revise for, four assessments to prepare for, shorthand practice, a 20-page magazine to complete and five blogposts for my other blog. Wish me luck... I'll need it.

On April 1 I got an article published on Fashion North. I really enjoyed writing it and I know have a nail varnish wishlist as long as my arm... Please have a read, I'd love to know what you think of my writing style. You can read it here.

I'm now gonna relax for a bit and then get on with some work.

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday!

The Sunday Edit #8

Week run down on my blog:

Monday: Sleek Face Form Review and Swatches
Wednesday: Lush Mask of Magnanimity Review
Saturday: Make-up storage/set up wishlist

Hey lovelies, I hope you've all had a wonderful week! I haven't purchased any make-up in what seems like years and I'm craving a splurge. Hurry up student loan day! I need the Naked 3 pallet and all of MAC in my hands (a girl can dream)!! This week was the same as most to be honest, although the weather has been sunny and much warmer. Hello Spring!

Today the sun is beaming down and it's the nicest weather I've seen for a while. Me and two of my classmates from University went to the National Glass Centre in Sunderland today to film for our news story assessment. We are doing a story on the mothers day paperweight making that is running at the centre. We interviewed the glass maker as well as the participants. We also got to see the furnaces, and oh God when he opened it my face nearly melted off! 1000 degrees of pure heat, I felt like my foundation was going to slide off... I took a few pictures to show all of you lovelies how nice the weather was as well as some pics of the Glass Centre, it's so cool there.

What did you get up to this week?

The Sunday Edit #7

Week run down on my blog:

Monday: March Wishlist
Wednesday: L'Oreal Micellar Water Review
Saturday: MAC Cremesheen Lipsticks Review

I'm so glad this week is over, it's been so busy! I've spent most of my week at Uni completing my Magazine redesign. Phew, so happy that it's finally been handed in!

If you've read my previous Sunday Edit's you will know that I got an article of mine published on SR News. This week I got an article published on Fashion North, all about my top picks from Sephora, please read it here. Getting published is the best feeling, I love seeing my work on websites! These websites are all run by the University I go to - Sunderland. It's great for students to get published and showcase their talent.

Well that's pretty much all for the week, the sun is shining and I'd love to go to the beach but I'm gonna sit back, relax and watch some tele.

How has your week been? I'd love to know.

The Sunday Edit #4

Week run-down on my blog:

Monday: Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick Reviews and Swatches

Wednesday: Beauty Haul

Saturday: MAC Collection

I really enjoy writing these and I hope that you lovelies enjoy reading them, even though I'm not the most interesting person in the world, hehe!

At the start of the week I finally got in contact with the owner of Sunderland dance studios for a comment on a grant they had been awarded. It took me over a week to get this story finished and it's finally published on SR News. SR News is run by Sunderland University and it's a hyperlocal news wesbite. It's great for us journalism students to get our work published. You can read my article here.

I also wrote two articles for My Student Style this week and if you've been following my blog for a while you would know that I regularly contribute to MSS. This website is great to get yourself published and it looks wonderful on your CV. The second article that I wrote this week for MSS was "Lingerie for your personality" it isn't up just yet but I'll be sure to add it into next weeks Sunday Edit.

On Friday I handed in my first assessment for semester two at University. It was a double page spread for magazine design and production. Basically, we had to choose a double page spread and mimic everything on the page, the fonts, the layouts but not the copy. We had to find some copy of the internet and change the content but keep the same design. Finding the exact fonts was so so hard!

This is the original double page spread

Here is my double page spread
(You can click on the images to make them bigger)

I'm pretty proud of my work here, it doesn't look really complicated but it was quite difficult. I'm really excited to do more magazine design in the future.
What did you get up to this week?
