MAC Lipstick - Mehr | Review & Swatches

I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I'm completely obsessed with lipsticks, MAC and matte in particular. Today's post is a review of the popular MAC lipstick in the shade Mehr.

On the MAC website Mehr is described as a "dirty blue pink" which is a pretty accurate description. Mehr is a "my lips but darker" shade on my pale skin tone and it looks gorgeous.

Its in the same colour family as MAC Brave but it is a tiny bit darker and matte. Mehr is an everyday shade for me as it is so easy to pull off. It pairs with a neutral eye or a smoky eye and it never looks too much.

The matte formula glides along the lips full of pigmentation and wears well before fading. It can dry your lips out as it is a matte lipstick so the lips are better off prepared with a scrub and lip balm beforehand.

I'm yet to be disappointed by any MAC lipstick and I love the shade Mehr.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick - Amazing Grace | Review

With Charlotte Tilbury arriving in the North at Newcastle Fenwicks I just had to have a browse around the counter – who can ever just have a browse right?! So I picked up her Matte Revolution lipstick in the shade Amazing Grace.

I’m a huge fan of matte lipstick, it stays on well and it doesn’t smear all around my face… What can I say? I’m awfully messy.

Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks come housed in a gorgeous rose gold cylinder tube with the tip of the lipstick being a square-ish shape to apply from the bullet with ease. Amazing Grace is a gorgeous everyday pink.

For £23 I had high expectations, I never really splurge this much on a single lipstick. My high expectations were met and I’m so in love with the formula! Matte lips are renowned for being drying but these lipsticks do not leave my lips feeling dry and flaky which is amazing. They also last for a good five hours without any touch-ups too!

If you’re in the market for a new matte lipstick and don’t mind CT’s hefty price tag then I definitely recommend these gorgeous lipsticks! Maybe pop one on your Christmas list…

Have you tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury?

Apologies for the lack of swatches - winter is definitely not a bloggers best friend!

Clinique Plum Pop Lipstick | Review & Swatches

I've never tried anything from Clinique so when I made a cheeky purchase on Feel Unique I decided to give their Pop Lip Colour and Primer Lipsticks a go.

What Clinique say:

"Luxurious yet weightless formula merges bold, saturated colour with a smoothing primer. Glides on effortlessly to give a modern-velvet finish. Colour stays true and keeps lips comfortably moisturised for 8 hours. "

I picked up Plum Pop, a muted plum that is perfect for autumn. It's not an in-your-face-look-at-me shade so it's perfect for everyday.

The formula is smooth and it applies evenly on the lips without dragging thanks to its creamy finish. I do find it to feather if I don't use a lip liner but I always use lip liner anyway so this isn't a problem for me.

Clinique do say it lasts for eight hours, but when do lip products ever live up to the wear-time claim?!

It lasts a good few hours though, but it will start to come off with eating - as most lip products to for me.

I really do like the formula as I love how it doesn't dry out your lips but it still is super pigmented.

Beige Pop is next on my wish list!

Have you tried the Clinique Pop Lipsticks? What's your favourite?

Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipsticks | Review & Swatches

Throne
Magical
Pink Myth
Legend
Horn of Magic
Throne, Horn of Magic, Legend, Pink Magic, Magical
Makeup Revolution recently released their Unicorns Unite lipsticks*, there are five shades in the range. A blue, two purples, a pink and blue. All of the shades are metallic and look awesome on the lips.

These lipsticks are a bargain at £1 each! Although they may not be something you would wear on a daily basis they would be great for fancy dress and Halloween. The pink is a super wearable shade though and looks so pretty on the lips.

For £1 I wasn't expecting much - they're not the best lipsticks - but they're also a bargain for the price that they are. They're highly metallic which is great as not many lipsticks are so they are perfect for special occasions.

I would pair the lipsticks underneath a lip liner - Makeup Revolution have some bright ones too - because it does take a bit of building to reach a high intensity colour.

Overall I do think these are great and my favourite shade is Horn of Magic, it would be the perfect lip colour for a mermaid look.

Make-Up Revolution Super Wow High Gloss Lip Colour Stick - Review & Swatches

I'm sure you have all heard of Make-Up Revolution now, they are all the blogger craze with their high-end dupes and ridiculously affordable prices.

Today I will be reviewing the whole range of their Super Wow High Gloss Lip Colour Stick*. The range has eight shades ranging from nudes, to pinks, orange, red and purple. There is something for everyone in this range.

Make-Up Revolution claim for the lipsticks to have a "high-gloss" but this has to be a typo because they are completely matte, which personally I prefer. They also claim to be waterproof which is actually surprisingly true. After swatching all of the lipsticks on my arm I ran my arm under the tap and the product didn't budge. I also the rubbed my fingers over the water and my arm and it still didn't move, it only started to move with a lot of force (which hurt my arm, all in the name of beauty ey haha).

L-R: Maria, Call Me, Atomic, Sunday Girl, Hanging on the Telephone, Rap-ture, Dreaming, Heart of Glass

I find some shades can be more drying than others but nothing a little prep doesn't solve. They are really long lasting and they are some of the best drug-store matte lipsticks that I have tried. I like that they are like a chunkier version of a lip liner so it allows you to create a crisp even line around the lips.

Overall I'm really impressed and I don't think you can go wrong at £2.99!

Born Pretty Lipstick - Review & Swatches

Lipsticks have to be my favourite make-up product. They can complete a look wether it's a pink nude or a bright red. There's just something about lipsticks that causes me to hoard them (anyone else?)...

Today I will be reviewing two products from Born Pretty Store.

I was sent a Danimer Lipstick in 93* and a Soft Matte Lipstick in 01*.

The Danimer Lipstick is a bright purple shade, it looks quite scary (to me) in the bullet but it is a nice wearable shade on my skin tone. Although the lipstick is pigmented I find it doesn't apply evenly and it is really, really cheap looking and feeling.

The Soft Matte Lipstick in 01 instantly reminded of Topshop's lipsticks with its packaging - which I love! It is a peachy pink nude shade and it is beautiful. I actually don't own any shades similar to this and I'm really liking it. Compared with the other lipstick this one is 10x better, it is creamy, pigmented and lasts a while on the lips too.

Overall I'm really impressed with the matte lipstick and not so much with the purple shade. Have you tried any Born Pretty lipsticks?
