The Sunday Edit #8

Week run down on my blog:

Monday: Sleek Face Form Review and Swatches
Wednesday: Lush Mask of Magnanimity Review
Saturday: Make-up storage/set up wishlist

Hey lovelies, I hope you've all had a wonderful week! I haven't purchased any make-up in what seems like years and I'm craving a splurge. Hurry up student loan day! I need the Naked 3 pallet and all of MAC in my hands (a girl can dream)!! This week was the same as most to be honest, although the weather has been sunny and much warmer. Hello Spring!

Today the sun is beaming down and it's the nicest weather I've seen for a while. Me and two of my classmates from University went to the National Glass Centre in Sunderland today to film for our news story assessment. We are doing a story on the mothers day paperweight making that is running at the centre. We interviewed the glass maker as well as the participants. We also got to see the furnaces, and oh God when he opened it my face nearly melted off! 1000 degrees of pure heat, I felt like my foundation was going to slide off... I took a few pictures to show all of you lovelies how nice the weather was as well as some pics of the Glass Centre, it's so cool there.

What did you get up to this week?

The Sunday Edit #6

Week run down on my blog:

Monday: Think Pink Lush Bath Bomb
Wednesday: Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Saturday: How to deep clean make-up brushes

Hello lovelies, how are you all doing? The weeks are flying by so fast it's gonna be summer soon! As always my week hasn't been totally exciting... Blogging, eating, University yep, that's basically my life at the moment!

I'm on a bit of a spending ban as my student bank balance is crying at me. That being said I did order some brushes from eBay two or three weeks ago and they came on Friday. I bought 10 brushes for £12, bargain right?! I'll do a blogpost on them later when I've had more use out of them, so far I love love love!

As like every week I did get an article published on My Student Style, this week it's eye complimenting colours, the best eye shadow for different coloured eyes.

What did you get up to this week?

The Sunday Edit #5

Week run down on my blog:

Monday: ELF Haul
Wednesday: Freshly Pressed Beauty Q&A
Saturday: February Favourites

It's March already! Wow, where did the time go? But only 2 days until Pancake Day, aka my favourite day of the year (yummy)!

I haven't really done much this week apart from blogging and going to Uni. I'm writing this blog post from home (Leicester) as I'm back for the weekend. I've really enjoyed seeing my family and spending sometime with my little sister. It's nice not to have to spend any money on food hehe! I'm not looking forward to the four/five hour journey back on the train though. At least I have my boyfriend and Glamour magazine, it's not all that bad really!

On Monday another article that I wrote for My Student Style got published. I highly recommend that you get involved with writing for them. It looks great on your CV!

On Wednesday I went to my first ever pub quiz with my friends and we were first in the first round but we somehow managed to come near enough last... I'm pretty sure most people cheat though (not cool ahem)!!

I hope you all have had a lovely week and I hope March is a good month for you.

What did you get up to this week?

I'll be back tomorrow with another post lovelies!

The Sunday Edit #4

Week run-down on my blog:

Monday: Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick Reviews and Swatches

Wednesday: Beauty Haul

Saturday: MAC Collection

I really enjoy writing these and I hope that you lovelies enjoy reading them, even though I'm not the most interesting person in the world, hehe!

At the start of the week I finally got in contact with the owner of Sunderland dance studios for a comment on a grant they had been awarded. It took me over a week to get this story finished and it's finally published on SR News. SR News is run by Sunderland University and it's a hyperlocal news wesbite. It's great for us journalism students to get our work published. You can read my article here.

I also wrote two articles for My Student Style this week and if you've been following my blog for a while you would know that I regularly contribute to MSS. This website is great to get yourself published and it looks wonderful on your CV. The second article that I wrote this week for MSS was "Lingerie for your personality" it isn't up just yet but I'll be sure to add it into next weeks Sunday Edit.

On Friday I handed in my first assessment for semester two at University. It was a double page spread for magazine design and production. Basically, we had to choose a double page spread and mimic everything on the page, the fonts, the layouts but not the copy. We had to find some copy of the internet and change the content but keep the same design. Finding the exact fonts was so so hard!

This is the original double page spread

Here is my double page spread
(You can click on the images to make them bigger)

I'm pretty proud of my work here, it doesn't look really complicated but it was quite difficult. I'm really excited to do more magazine design in the future.
What did you get up to this week?

The Sunday Edit #1

I thought I would add something different to my blog so I'm bringing you the weekly Sunday edit. I love reading these posts as they give the blogs week run-down in posts as well as a snippet into the bloggers life. I'm not the most interesting person you'll meet but by doing these posts you will get to know a bit more about me.

I was lacking on the posts this week but I'll try my best to post every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Wednesday - Colour Riche Privee Lipstick/My Student Style first published article
Saturday - January Favourites

So at the beginning of the week I started semester two of my second year at University. There's only 12/13 weeks left and it's flying by way too fast for my liking. My week wasn't that busy as we were starting new modules so it's basically an introduction to these modules and simple tasks in workshops.

I somehow managed to pull the muscle in my neck/shoulder so I wasn't able to do many things, which resulted in missing a day at Uni to go to A&E as I didn't know (at the time) what was wrong. The pain has nearly gone completely so when it does I'll be back to normal, going to Uni everyday and blogging frequently.

The only beauty product I bought this week was Benefit's Porefessional, which also came with an eye cream and a brightening primer.

I've been on a spending ban as I can't afford to keep buying make-up, much to my disappointment as make-up is my favourite thing as I'm sure you've guessed by now! I need a proper part-time job to fund my beauty buys but I haven't got any free time. I work at Sunderland AFC football ground nearly every time they have a home game but the money only covers the food I buy.

So that's my first Sunday Edit, I hope you enjoyed it. :)

What did you do this week?
