For today's post I thought I would show you my all time MAC must haves as there are a few products that completely live up to the hype (and price tag!)
1. Base Goodness
These three products are an absolute godsend for making sure your make-up stays fresh and flawless from dawn 'til dusk and I really can’t recommend them enough.
MAC Prep & Prime Base Lumière primer is the most delightful, hydrating and luscious primer I have ever used and trust me I've tried my fair share. This product is great for creating a smooth base and helps all the products you apply over the top apply so much smoother.
MAC Prep & Prime for lips is my ultimate godsend product. If you are someone who loves a matte lip like I do this is a product you 100% need in your makeup kit. I got this as a last resort after I couldn't wear my MAC candy yum-yum matte lipstick for more then an hour without it cracking on my lips, desperate to save this gorgeous lip colour from unusable status I asked my local MAC ladies for a saving grace and oh boy did they deliver. I recommend this to anyone and everyone, it is like a lovely little Angel came down and blessed you with the softest lips in the world I cannot stress to everyone how amazing this little tube of happiness is.
2. The ONLY eyeshadow you will ever need
If I can give you any advice at all, it is don’t ever go to a shopping centre in Vancouver that houses both Mac & Sephora with $1500 in your bank account. Because you will spend it. All of it.
This is what happened when my boyfriend let me go shopping by myself armed with a credit card and love of all things MAC. This palette is my baby and my most prized possession. For $160CAD you get 15 beautifully pigmented, buttery beautiful shades all in a secure black case that showcases their beauty so perfectly. I use this for basically every eye look I do whether it be a neutral shimmery eye or a full-blown dramatic smoky eye. I don’t regret this purchase at all as it’s so versatile and I can get away with using this one palette for almost all of my standard eye looks. If you are considering splurging on a MAC palette I highly recommend it as they look as beautiful on your eye as they do in the pan, which is far too rare these days.
3. Fancy Face Powders
After you’ve spent a good 10 minutes or so covering up the natural glow and colour in your face (as we all do) you need some kick-ass products to brighten you back up and keep you perfectly flushed & glowy. These are those products.
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle is one of those things that is almost too beautiful to touch. However I strongly recommend that you do as it looks fan-freaking-tastic on your face and gives you the most perfect sun kissed look. The colour is a beautiful champagne pink and I'm absolutely infatuated.
MAC prolongwear blush in rosy outlook – this is one of those blushes that just always seems to go right. It’s the perfect peachy blush and my go-to for summer. I really don’t need to say too much about this as I think the swatches say enough about how beautiful this blush really is.
The MAC Alluring Aquatic collection was raved about by almost every Instagrammer on the planet and I was lucky enough to snag this little gem. Sea Me, Hear Me is my ultimate blush not just for its beautiful packaging and extra dimension loveliness, but for how dang versatile this is. Because it’s such a deep colour I’ve gotten away numerous times with skipping the contour altogether and using this baby to define my cheeks as well as giving them some much needed colour. I’m not sure how this would fare in summer but I’m loving it at the moment and don’t think I’ll be moving on anytime soon.
4. Lets talk about Lipsticks
We all know you cant talk about MAC without mentioning the lipsticks that made them famous. My personal favourites are:
Matte: Diva (2nd from the left top row) & Candy Yum Yum ((3rd from the left top row)
Cremesheen: Mystical (top left) & Coral Bliss (bottom right)
Satin: Please Me (top right) & MAC red (bottom left)
Prolongwear: Prolong (bottom middle)
Matte: Diva (2nd from the left top row) & Candy Yum Yum ((3rd from the left top row)
Cremesheen: Mystical (top left) & Coral Bliss (bottom right)
Satin: Please Me (top right) & MAC red (bottom left)
Prolongwear: Prolong (bottom middle)
These colours are my go-to and if I had to narrow it down to a top three it would be Diva, Mystical & MAC red. Mac Rebel is another all time favourite which I recently lost & desperately need to repurchase.
So there you have it! These are my current MAC must-haves and I use most of these on a daily basis. I'm not one to splurge on something I don’t really see myself using but all of these products are such high quality and I'm yet to find a dupe that would convince me to switch.
