Hi I'm Ottilie and I write a blog called Urban Beautie, I recently got given the opportunity to write a post for Freshly Pressed Beauty and so today I'm going to be talking about my favourite highlighters for summer. At the end of the post I will link all of my social media accounts so remember to follow me on there as well as checking out my blog where I upload every odd day of the month.
Beginning with powder highlights, I have three all at different price points. Starting off with the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder this costs only £3 and is available in some Superdrug stores. You get so much product and it has a slightly nude/pink undertone to it which makes it look a bit more natural. I would advise that you use this with a light hand as if you put too much on you can end up looking a bit like a glitter ball.
Sleek Face Form in Light, for £9.99 which is a bit more than the MUA one but for that price you do get three products all of which I love and there is a review on over on my blog. The highlighter in this palette is a lot less shimmery than the MUA highlighter and if you are new to highlighting and contouring than I would really advise this because it has everything you need and also is very easy to use.
My last powder highlighter is Bobbi Brown Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick, obviously this is a much higher end product costing £32. I have had mine for ages now though over a year and it still hasn't run out. It has a much more pigmented colour than the other two highlighters and adds a lovely bronze/pink colour to your cheeks as well as shimmer. They also have a range of shades so you can go and check them out if you ever get a chance.
Moving onto highlighters in a stick form, more of a cream. I know that all of these are actually cream eye shadows but they are perfect for highlighting the inner corner of your eye or just under your brow bone. The first two are the ELF Jumbo Eye shadow Sticks (£1.95) in the shades Little Miss Thing and French Lace. Little Miss Thing is a more golden toned highlighter and French Lace is a pinker toned highlighter. As well as highlighting the inner corner of your eyes you can also use this to highlight your cheek bones as well as long as you remember to blend it as well.
The third one is the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese (£5), although you could use this to highlight your cheeks I prefer this for the inner corners of my eye because it's more of a white sparkly shade on the cheeks this could look a bit unnatural.
This is more of a random selection of highlighters, most are liquid or cream. I love Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I know this is not technically a highlighter but I use this concealer in the lightest shade to conceal under my eyes but as well to highlight. It's perfect for highlighting under your eyes but make sure you use a lighter shade of powder to set the highlight.
Lovely post! My fave highlighters are Benefit Whatts Up, Mac Lustre Drops and Mac Soft and Gentle! x
