FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation

I have always wanted to try Rimmel's Lasting Finish foundation but only until recently there wasn't a light enough shade for me. As soon as I saw this Nude version of the foundation in Light Porcelain I knew it has to come home with me. I originally went in to Boots to buy both versions of the Lasting Finish foundation but they only had Light Porcelain in the Nude version, damn you Boots!

Packaging
I love the bottle and the design of this foundation. It's cased in a clear glass bottle as usual for Rimmel foundations. I love the white lid, it looks so effortless and chic.

Shade
Like I said I picked up the shade 010 Light Porcelain. I find this shade to be similair to their Match Perfection foundation in Light Porcelain. It still has a pink under-tone but it is not as strong as Rimmel's Wake Me Up in Light Porcelain.
Finish
The finish is very natural, it isn't matte nor is it dewy. I think it's a great finish for everyday wear.
Coverage
Rimmel claim for the coverage to be medium and I do agree with that. It does cover some acne scarring but not blemishes so I have to go in with concealer on top, which doesn't bother me at all. It can be built up too and it doesn't go cakey. Although the coverage is medium it feels very light on the skin which I am loving.
Wear
I've had the foundation on for over 10 hours and it still looks good. I did have to powder once because I became a bit shiny. The foundation has stayed on my nose which rarely happens because some foundations just separate. My chin has eaten the foundation up though and that happens with every foundation, Who knows why...

Final thoughts
Overall I really like this foundation. It feels light on the skin, has good coverage and a nice natural finish. The shade is great and the wear time is good too. I don't think it would last 25 hours but I'm probably never going to wear foundation that long anyway...

What are your thoughts on Rimmel's new release?

  1. I don't know why they bother with the 25 hour claim, lol I can't think of a time I'd need that! I quite liked it when I tried as it's nice and pale for my skin which is good for a budget foundation. Lovely review, I like how you've broken it all up which makes it easier to read :) x
