The Best Facebook Groups For Bloggers

Facebook groups are a blogger's best friend. They're filled with opportunities, comment swaps, like-minded people and they're great for helping each other out. Today I'm sharing with you my favourite and most useful Facebook groups!

UK Bloggers
This group is my favourite, if you're ever in doubt of something then UK Bloggers is the group to ask. It's full of bloggers from every niche, with helpful documents, a thread to share your latest blog posts and opportunities from PRs, both paid and gifted. UK Bloggers was so useful to me when I created #BBLOGGERS Magazine as so many bloggers were willing to help me out.

Bloggers Helping Each Other
A side group to UK Bloggers is Bloggers Helping Each Other, this group has daily threads that will help you boost your engagement. From Instagram like swaps, comment swaps and Facebook shares.

UK Blogger Opportunities
As the name suggests UK Blogger Opportunities is a group for UK Bloggers to find paid and gifting opportunities.

Blogger Opportunities
Similar to the last group, Blogger Opportunities is open worldwide to bloggers and features both paid and gifting opportunities.

UK Instagram Support
UK Instagram Support is a group based on increasing Instagram engagement, with weekly like swaps and comment swaps it's a great group where participation is taken seriously.

Regional Groups
There are blogger groups for different cities and regions, if you just search on Facebook I'm sure you will find one local to you. These groups are great for events around you and meeting fellow bloggers. As I lived in Sunderland at University I joined a few North East groups, now I'm back in Leicester I have joined East Midlands groups. I'll list some down below!

East Midlands Blogger Society, Leicestershire Bloggers, North East UK Bloggers, North East Network of Brilliant Bloggers

Have I missed any of your favourite groups?

Top Tips For Bleached/Silver Hair

As some of you may know, I jumped aboard the "granny" hair trend last November and my silver locks are still going strong. Bleaching your hair can be awfully damaging so here are my top tips for maintaining healthy hair.

Olaplex
Although I haven't had this treatment myself I hear so many great things! Olaplex is used whilst bleaching the hair to help protect the hair from damage. You can get an Olaplex treatment in a salon that stocks the brand and you get step three to take home and use as a treatment. It helps repair the bonds in your hair and it is something I'm definitely interested in trying!

Coconut Oil
If you are going silver at home (which I initially did too) coconut oil, - like Olaplex - will help protect the hair from damage. I tried this a few weeks ago when I re-bleached my whole head and it definitely helped lessen the damage!

Silver Shampoo
This is an essential step for me and it'll work for bleach blondes too. Silver shampoo is an intense dark purple shade, purple counteracts yellow so it'll take the brassy tones out of the hair. If you leave it on for 5-10 minutes on white hair it'll give a gorgeous silvery/lilac shade. Bleach London Silver Shampoo is my favourite!

Toner
Toner works the same as the silver shampoo, it'll give your hair intense nourishment and tone out the brassy parts. I love Jerome Russell's Silver Toner for this!

Hair Masks
Damage is part of the process when having bleached/silver hair so hair masks will become your best friend. The best masks are the ones you put on before you wash your hair. I love a coconut masks once every few weeks. Weekly I use Bleach London Reincarnation Mask, this stuff is incredible!

Less heat
Obviously using less heat on your hair is going to help it! I need to take on this tip myself, my hair is always a mess when I wake up and I have to reach for the heat styling tools. Does anyone have any heat-free hairstyles that work?!

Cold water
Same again with heat, but instead of having a boiling hot shower try and have the water as cold as you can stand. If you can't, make sure you use cool water after conditioning your hair as it will seal the cuticles and lock moisture in.
So, there are my tips for bleached hair! If you have any tips please leave them in the comments as I would love for you to share.

My Top Tips For All Bloggers - Beginners and Veterans

Over the past year and a half I have picked up a few tips and wish I knew some things as soon as I started. Today I will be sharing with you a few tips that you will hopefully help you, wether you're a newbie or an oldie.
1) Install Google Analytics! Bloggers stats are notoriously wrong as they capture every view - even bots. The sooner you install Google Analytics the better as you will have the most accurate stats. There are a few tutorials to help you install it - if like me, you are a tad confused.

2) Can't do something? Google it! Seriously, Google has been my best friend when it has come to the technical side of blogging. I always Google my queries and I always find an answer from a fellow blogger.

3) Social media! It's the most important thing. Make accounts for your blog; Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, wherever you can post your work the better! Be consistent on all platforms and always use your blog name. It will make it easier for readers to follow you.

4) Be consistent! Now I'm not saying blog every day, as we all know that isn't possible for some people. But when you do post be consistent, wether it be once a week or four times a week. Set a schedule and try and stick to it.

5) Scheduling! If you have the time - and motivation - try and write posts in bulk, one after another. This will allow you to stagger posts across days, weeks so if for some reason you can't post that day you will already have a blog post going up.

6) Don't compare yourself to anyone else, Rome wasn't built in a day! It can be easy to feel down about your blog, especially if you haven't got lots of followers. It all takes time and content is king. Every blogger is unique so don't get hung up about it, you're special and so is your blog.

7) Passion! If you have a passion for what you are writing about it will come through in your writing and feel more authentic to your readers.
There are a few of my top tips for all bloggers.
